Objective: SWBAT describe a character’s motivation and how it effects the decisions made by that character. SWBAT compare/contrast two characters based on the events each character experienced in her childhood.
Do-Now: What do you believe is motivating Nanny to want Janie to get married so young? If you were Janie, how would you react to being forced to marry someone who is much older than you?
Today: 1) Class will finish reading Chapter #2. How does Janie react to being forced to marry Logan?
2) Students will create a VENN diagram comparing Janie’s childhood to Nanny’s.
